We've started a new session and we have looked specifically at what two things are important when beginning the game:- Work to control the center.
- Make sure your king is safe. This is usually done by castling.
- Develop your pawn structure.
We also reviewed the difference between check, checkmate and stalemate. Don't forget that a king can never be right next to a king because a king can NEVER put himself in check!
